Walking down the road in Cameron Highlands

The Panthers are seen again walking along the road in Cameron Highlands. Remember going down the road while waiting for the bus to Tapah. On the way we stopped at a fruit stall along the road side. There was this cute Chinese girl manning the stall. She had such rosy cheeks that attracted all of us. Chin "Tai Kor" was so attracted that he started a conversation with her. We just stood and watched.

Musical Talent

This photograph was taken during one of the performances by the music class. Some of us were chosen to play various musical instruments. You can see Sonny Chow with the tamborine. Brynner and I are in the second row. We played the recorder. I cannot recall the tune or the song but I am sure the song or tune was from the musical book we all bought. If I am not mistaken you can see Ambika on the left. There is also Mak Tuck Choy beside Brynner. Well done, Panthers.

At Lumut

Hey Panthers and those from MPIB (1978/79)
Do you remember this photograph? It was taken at Lumut. We had organised a trip to Teluk Batik on our own without the permission of the college. It was a memorable trip and I bet everyone enjoyed it very much. The ladies were great though. They took all the trouble to prepare the food and drinks. Do you still recognise the faces here?

In memory of Stanley Wong

This post is in memory of Stanley Wong. He was a great guy and a fun person to be with. We shall miss his stunts and his happy-go-lucky attitude. This shot was taken at Pangkor Island on one of our adventurous trips. We took this shot by the sea as if we were in the movies in Bollywood. Look at Stanley; a great actor; would you agree? We had gone there on a convoy of motor cycles and stayed at a chalet.

Some more unearth rare copies of The Panthers

I'm sure all of us can remember the time we went to Cameron Highlands. Remember we tried to organised one when we were seniors and every one backed out. They had very bad impression of us. Whatever, we had our fun up at the Highlands. Remember the song please "dont go" and also handsome with the small girl?

The Headquaters in Merdeka Garden

This shot was taken in front of 14, Jalan Rakyat, Merdeka Garden, Ipoh.
This was the headquaters of the Pink Panthers. I really mean it, because it was the meeting place of many of the college mates. It was very safe and open to everyone. Anyone could enter and vsist or just relax there. There was music, newspapers, and the great company of the panthers. In the evening, we would gather in front of the house and wait for girls who would pass by on their way home. We would tease and advertise ourselves. Initially, there were many girls who used the road but due to our presence, they used other routes. That was our own fault. Anyway, life has to go on. We turned to other sources of entertainment. That would be in the next post.

Panthers in Cameron Highlands

Hey Panthers,
Remember this shot? By looking at the shot, we were all like a rock group. Passers-by would have thought we were really a band on vacation. We had a wonderful time there and I shall never forget it.
